Oscars Go Vegan
If you have vegan news on Google alert like me, you probably already know that this year’s Academy Awards’ luncheon will be plant-based! Shocking on two fronts, really. Firstly, they don’t serve dinner at the Oscars?! Secondly, and arguably way cooler, the nominees’ lunch will be 100% plant-based food! Rejoice!
It seems only fitting that we honor such awesomeness with a vegan Oscar viewing party of our own!
What is an Oscar viewing party, you ask? Well, let me break it down. You sit comfortably in your PJs and ponytail (or man bun) sipping prosecco while nibbling on faux-fancy food while commenting on designer dresses that you will get to never wear and acceptance speeches that you don’t care about (OR acceptance speeches that go on and on and on). So invite your cast and crew over to enjoy a night of light bites and honest appraisals!
Here are our noms for the best party menu:
Pear-Ricotta Crostini: These flavorful two-bite wonders are sure to captivate any audience.
Meatballs: Three little ingredients. One gracious winner (that’s you). Serve these meatballs on an elegant tray, garnished with parsley. Super fancy looking. Super breezy to pull off.
Stuffed jalapenos: A new take on a tasty favorite. Hold the cream cheese, please.
Chocolate mousse: Plot twist! No one will ever know that this whipped treat is made from aquafaba. Serve with gold sprinkles in martini glasses for extra Oscar night flare.
Arugula-Spinach Pesto Pasta: Greens and walnuts unite to make dapper farfalle taste better than ever. Serve in muffin papers for simple grab and go (back to the couch).
Spiced nuts: Nibbles are essential. These are homemade, hearty and heavenly!
Berry tart: All dressed up! This no-bake, no-fuss tart tastes as good as it looks.
Caramel Party Popcorn: Popcorn makes a big comeback! Drenched in caramel flavoring, this reinvented simple pleasure will have you gleefully snacking all the way until Best Picture.
Prosecco float: Prosecco and rich vanilla ice cream. Best ensemble performance, hands down!
